CREATING TWO NODE HACMP CLUSTER STEP BY STEP

PLANNING IP FOR A ALIASING (IP TAKE OVER BY ALIASING)

To create two node hacmp we need to plan ip address , resource group , topology
Here we have two nodes with name pci and cws

Create host entries on both the nodes in /etc/hosts file .For example see cws
/etc/hosts file

CREATING A CLUSTER

Copy /etc/host file on all the nodes
type smit hacmp Select   Extended configuration >> Extended Topology Configuration then Configure an Hacmp Cluster  >> Add Change/Show Hacmp Cluster
Type the name of Hacmp Cluster  and press enter to accept

Add caption

ADDING NODES TO THE CLUSTER Now go to Extended configuration >> Extended Topology Configuration >>
Configure Hacmp Nodes >> Add A Node To Hacmp Cluster
Type the Name and select communication path

After adding all the nodes in the cluster , View the nodes if you want

Extended configuration >> Extended Topology Configuration >>
Configure Hacmp Nodes >> Change/Shome Nodes in Hacmp Cluster

DISCOVERING HACMP INFORMATION

After Adding Nodes
Goto Extented Configuration >> Discover HACMP-related Information from Configured Nodes

And wait the command to complete
ADDING NETWORK TO THE CLUSTER

Now  Goto Extented Configuration >> Extended Topology Configuration  >> Configure HACMP Networks >>   Add a Network to the HACMP Cluster >> Select network under Discovered IP-based Network Types

Select Yes for Enable IP Address Takeover via IP Aliases

ADDING COMMUNICATION DEVICES TO THE CLUSTER

Now Go To Extended Topology >> Extended Topology Configuration >> Configure HACMP Communication Interfaces/Devices >>  Add Communication Interfaces/Devices
Select  == > Add Discovered Communication Interface and Devices >> Communication Interfaces
If this is the first time you are going to add a communication device you will see net_ether_01
Select the communication device net_ether_01

Select All The interfaces As shown in the above figure and press Enter

ADDING A PERSISTENT IP IN THE CLUSTER

Goto Extended Configuration >>  Extended Topology Configuration >>  Configure HACMP Persistent Node IP Label/Addresses  >>  Add a Persistent Node IP Label/Address >> Select the desired node  and provide the label for persistent ip

Repeat the above steps for all the nodes one by one

ADDING SERVICE IP LABEL

Go to Extended Configuration >> Extended Resource Configuration >> HACMP Extended Resources Configuration >> Configure HACMP Service IP Labels/Addresses  >> Add a Service IP Label/Address >> Select   Configurable on Multiple Nodes  >> Select network interface net_ether_01

ADDING A RESOURCE GROUP TO CLUSTER

Go to Extended Configuration >> Extended Resource Configuration >> HACMP Extended Resource Group Configuration >> Add a Resource Group
Provide resource Group name and participating nodes

ADDING A SERVICE IP TO A RESOURCE GROUP

After Adding nodes to the resource group Go to
Go to Extended Configuration >> Extended Resource Configuration >> HACMP Extended Resource Group Configuration >> Change/Show Resources and Attributes for a Resource Group
select the resource group  and press enter

Provide Service ip Label in the provided coloumn << Service IP Labels/Addresses                        [pci_svc] >>

VERIFICATION AND SYNC

Now Go to Extended Configuration >> Extended Verification and Synchronization
select on both nodes and press enter

Wait For the sync to complete

Start the cluster after sync
